Directions for Measuring Vertical Companionway Openings
With Dropboard and/Or Track Widths Less than 1/2"

Measuring Vert. Companionway Openings w/ Dropboard<1/2"

To build the vertical companionway screen for boats with dropboard widths less than 1/2 of an inch, we need four (4) measurements:

1) Width of companionway opening at bottom of companionway not including the depth of the channel or track that holds the dropboards. Measure this width from side to side without going inside the tracks.

2) Width of companionway opening at top of companionway not including the depth of the channel or track that holds the dropboards. Measure this width from side to side without going inside the tracks.

3) Total height of companionway from bridgedeck to the bottom edge of the sliding companionway top.

4) Width and depth of the track or channel that holds the dropboards.

* If there is curvature to any part of the companionway opening, we will also need an outline tracing of the boards so we may match the exact shape.
